Area Tours at Relocation Destination
Moving to a new city can be exhilarating and challenging at the same time. In order to make the relocation a positive experience, it’s important that employees have an opportunity to tour the new area prior to the move. Transferees who take the time to learn about the new location prior to the relocation will feel more comfortable, and possibly excited, about the relocation.
Whether the employee is moving within the U.S. or abroad, XONEX Relocation will arrange for a local expert to give them an area tour prior to the relocation. The goal of the orientation tour is to give transferees a basic familiarity with the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Typically, they will learn about shopping areas, medical facilities, houses of worship, nightlife, schools and more. In order to ensure that they see everything, we recommend a minimum of one day and we often arrange multi-day programs upon client approval. Area tours generally include the following:
- Programming based on needs assessment
- Tour of expatriate areas (if moving abroad)
- Major features and landmarks
- Churches, Temples, Mosques, etc.
- Leisure activities
- Public transportation facilities
- Shopping, grocery and specialty markets
